One-Day Breakthrough for High Performance Team Building
Introduction and Orientation to the Ropes Course
Review team objectives, introduce staff, and engage in an energizer
| |

Trust Fall
Participants climb a low ladder or platform and fall backwards into their
teammates' upraised arms. Before being lowered to the ground, the
participant experiences the support of her team. |
| |
Result: Participants begin the process of building trust as a foundation
for growth and development. They practice letting go and giving unconditional
trust and support to their teammates.

Spider's Web
The team is challenged to pass through an organizational web to the other
side. Each person may use each opening only one time, and without touching
the web. |
Result: Participants experience strategic partnering, accountability,
and quality issues in which success is ultimately dependent upon the
entire team.
| |

High Y
In harnesses and double-belayed to a rope safety system, partners begin
individually on each arm of the Y to negotiate a set of tight-rope cables,
25 feet off the ground. As they reach the center of the Y, the partners join
together and work through the stem to get to the other side. |
| |
Result: Through clear communication, mutual trust and support, participants
create stability, focus and a way to move forward.

Grapevine
While harnessed and belayed onto a rope safety system,
the participant climbs 30 feet into the trees to stand on a cable. From
there, each participant attempts to reach the goal he set before
starting the climb.
Result: Participants experience the internal walls of
self-limitation and the inherent capacity to push beyond their comfort
zones to break through fear and, thus, increase self-esteem.
| |

Corporate Ladder
In groups of three climbers, who are tethered together
at the waist, must work together to climb a 45 foot ladder to "bring
their product to market."
Result: Participants practice active, effective support and coaching
that helps them attain their business objectives faster and with higher
quality. |

Closure
At the end of each activity, the facilitator initiates a discussion about
the activity. Participants are encouraged to discuss the group's actions and
behaviors, as well as voice their opinions, compliments, and concerns.
| |
Result: A stronger more cohesive team.
